How the scam works?

A user will frequently fall victim to the scam after getting a message from someone you know that contains a link to download "Pink WhatsApp." The message can state that this is an improved version of WhatsApp with new features like a pink theme and more stickers.

The user will be directed to a website that resembles the official WhatsApp website if they click the link. But in reality, this website is a fraud that's made to deceive users into downloading malicious software.

Once downloaded, the programme will ask for permission to access the user's private data. This information can then be stolen by the programme and sent back to the con artists.
